History

Soo-Tsong Lim started this business in 1992 with his college roommate, Mubashir Cheema, as the two students began selling modems and repairing computers out of their college dormitory. They soon proved to be e-commerce pioneers as they made use of an online bulletin board system to grow their business. Several IT books and contemporary trade journals have featured their innovative business model and highlighted their web site, Sparco.com, as exemplars for conducting e-commerce. After a short while, the business had generated enough revenue to open a storefront near the Mississippi State University (MSU) campus at which Mr. Lim sold Unistar brand PCs. In 1996, Sparco.com and Unistar Computers merged to form Unistar-Sparco Computers. They maintained both the brick-and-mortar retail storefront and the e-commerce division. One year later in November, 1997 the company was officially incorporated.


After having been in business a little over ten years, the company expanded exponentially and in July, 2003, Mr. Lim strategically moved the business to Millington, Tennessee, which remains the company's headquarters to this day. Today, with a knowledgeable IT staff, a line of more than 21 specific solutions, and over 1,000,000 products, Unistar-Sparco Computers is well-positioned to meet all IT needs, great or small.
